ZOO FEARS AS POLAR BEAR EATS CUBS
This article is about captivity life in the zoos and it tackles with the issue of a four week old polar bear in the zoo of Nuremberg, who has been separated from her mother because she was showing a strange behaviour with it and the zookeepers (were) feared that the polar bear mother was going to eat it.
Wednesday, the zoo decided to rear it away from its mother Vera because she was upset and very confused taking the baby in and out of the animals’ enclosure with really bad manners. The zookeepers were 100% sure the cub was going to die if they didn’t react on time.
The zoo confirmed earlier this week that their other female polar bear, Vilma, had eaten her two offspring because she thought they were ill and they were afraid Vera would do the same with her cub.
Nowadays the cub is resting under a heat lamp and it is drinking a lot of milk. The name of the cub, that it is a female, is Snowflake.
Nowadays Vera seems to miss her cub. She walks around her enclosure searching for her baby and she is really nervous. The experts say this is normal and they are sure this behaviour will go on for three or four days. For this reason, maybe the zoo will bring another adult bear, possibly Felix the cub’s father to help Vera overcome her loss.

I'M GLAD YOU'RE BACK!
Oh! It is surprising that an animal could eat her own babies. I thought their sense was better than ours. Maybe she didn't like her offspring to be living in captivity...(?)
