The definition of marriage is a union between two or more people with a social, cultural or legal recognition. Marriage is considered absolutely necessary for some people to start a family. On the other hand there are people that think love is more important than this public recognition.
First of all, it’s obvious that there are different types of unions. On one hand there is monogamy, the union between two people and on the other hand there is polygamy, the union between three or more people. In general we are monogamous because we live in Spain but in many countries like Senegal the majority of people are polygamous.
Secondly, it’s clear that in Spain the traditional marriage is based by the union between a woman and a man but since 2001 six countries in our world accept the union between same sex people: Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, South Africa, Netherlands and Spain.
Finally, the number of divorced people is going up and this is a clear example that people are changing their concept of marriage. Nowadays people don’t support their couples until the death. As a result every time there are new divorced families and new models of one-parent families.
To conclude, it’s obvious that our society is changing step by step and in my point of view is normal that marriage change with society. Love and respect is the most important think inside a couple.

All we're thinking about the marriage as a problem, but thinking historical it was a way to protect women against having to bring up the kids alone.
Polygamous exist for men..not for women..most of the times.

What an interesting topic... well, I thing nowadays some people can't stand anything, I don't mean you've to be with that person for the rest of your live if he/she makes you feel bad or hurts you, but some people take marriage lightly...
